Welcome to Genuine Mexico and the ocean beachtown of Manzanillo.

Manzanillo emerged during the 1970s as a premier vacation destination after Bo Derek and Dudley Moore’s movie “10” was filmed at a local beach.

Right now something very exciting is escalating in the beach-resort of Manzanillo.

Until recently, mostly Mexicans lived here, but today many of the visitors are foreigners who come in pursuit of their dream home on a Mexican beach. Most people that visit Manzanillo for the first time fall in love and want to stay. Come to Manzanillo and discover for your self why it is so popular!

Many projects are being developed to meet the increasing demand, but complying with the restrictions to keep Manzanillo clean and authentic.

Situated right on the Pacific Coast, this is a real tropical paradise, where people come from all over the world to enjoy the harmony and miles-long beaches. The climate is excellent all year around; about 28-30 degrees Celsius or 82-86 Fahrenheit and water temperature approximately the same.

Manzanillo is known world-wide for Hotel Las Hadas, sea-fishing, its golf-courses and the Gated Luxury Community La Punta. However, there are far more important reasons why people from all over the world come to Manzanillo for vacation or to stay; its authenticity and tranquility. It’s safe and unexploited. The beaches are beautiful and clean; each one with its special characteristics. The people are friendly, always meeting you with a smile. Here you come to relax, calm down and recover your energies.

The Cuisine in Manzanillo is delicious. There are many nice restaurants in Manzanillo, most specialized on fresh sea-food.  Do not miss “Camarones a la Diabla” (shrimps with a chile-sauce), tacos de Marlin ahumado (tacos of smoked sword-fish) or Huachinango. Or if you want to eat meet for a change, “El Vaquero” offers excellent stakes from the north of Mexico. La Boquita is a popular place with tables straight on the beach, where sea-food is served in excess for low prices.

Manzanillo is situated about 2-3 hours from Guadalajara, 1.5 hours from the amazing beaches of Michoacán and 3 hours from Puerto Vallarta.

LAS BRISAS
Las Brisas is situated in the southern part of the beach-resort Manzanillo. The area is very calm, and there are still only a few Condominiums and hotels in this area. The beach is perfect for walking, jogging or any other activity all year around, with its long stripe of flat, white sand. Cruises and ships enter and leave the harbor, and in the streets men from the Mexican Marine is seen walking with their white uniforms.   Enjoy the most traditional part of Manzanillo, with local seafood-restaurants and untouched nature.

SALAGUA
Salugua is situated between Las Brisas and Las Hadas, with walking-distance to all the restaurants, super-markets and malls. The beach is long and flat and the waves give an amazing spectacle for the viewer all year long. At night, the many lights of Las Hadas give a beautiful sight.

Up

LAS HADAS
Las Hadas is probably the most well-known area of Manzanillo. Constructed on the Peninsula of Santiago, Las Hadas not only has to offer its world-renowned Hotel Las Hadas, but also Karmina Palace Barceló, an 18-whole, excellent golf-course and many residential areas and Condominiums. La Punta is situated here (see Secluded Areas on the menu), as well as Puerto Las Hadas, Playa del Tesoro, Villas del Tesoro, Villas del Palmar etc all gated and secluded communities. Las Hadas is in itself a restricted area, where only the residents have the right to use its installations, giving properties of Las Hadas an aggregated value. There are many different beaches in Las Hadas, but the ocean is as calm as it gets; no currents and hardly no waves.

Up

SANTIAGO AREA
Santiago Area is situated between Las Hadas and Miramar towards Club Santiago. In Santiago Area you can enjoy the beautiful beach of Olas Altas. This is a very unique beach, naturally preserved with un-altered animal-life. The ocean, the beach and the animal-life undergo changes throughout the year, from January to December; you have Pelicans hunting fish in the beginning of the year, whales coming into the bay towards spring; you can watch the waterline moving further out and than again closer and simultaneously the ocean turns calmer and then more agitated.
Olas Altas is rapidly developing, and many projects are on the board. There are plans to make the beach and all the area a secluded one, with security and gates and limited access as well as making new underground installations and better all streets and pavements, giving the area a total makeover.
